Early Learning Centre
Early Learning Centre
Our new state of the art Early Learning Centre located within Sault College offers onsite child care to students, employees and the community. Our welcoming, respectful, and stimulating early learning and care program has expanded to support 80 children: 10 infants, 30 toddlers and 40 preschoolers.
he Early Learning Centre is a leader in providing high quality programs which support active learning through exploratory play. Our programs are designed around Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years: How Does Learning Happen.” Children grow and flourish when they are valued as active learners. Our Early Childhood Educators design our programing around the four foundations: Belonging, Well-being, Engagement and Expression. “These foundations, or ways of being, are a vision for all children’s future potential and a view of what they should experience each and every day.”1 Our programs enhance and enrich decision making skills, self-esteem, self-confidence, a sense of responsibility, good citizenship and respect for others. Connecting children to our natural environment is vital. Nature-based experiences, outdoor play and components of the Indigenous culture are embedded within the curriculum daily.
Before and After School Care: We operate a Before and After School program in the St. Paul Catholic School at 78 Dablon Street. This program is designed around the same pedagogy: How Does Learning Happen. This program is open to St. Paul students only and supports early learning for children ages 4 to 12 years before and after the school day.
We offer Indigenous specific funding to support our Indigenous community and full fee and subsidized spaces for families in need.
